Grab Radio News › Nokia Knockout!

Another couple months in the bowels of the GIRT research and development labs and hey presto, another knock-out Grab Radio product.  This time it’s a unique version of the Grab Radio application for Nokia smartphones such as the N8 and the X6.

The Grab Radio Hybrid is a similar to the great iPhone version but has a great trick up it’s sleeve.  The Digital Analogue Hybrid (DAH) technology will allow you to tune into the FM broadcast as well as the internet radio stream.  This means that if a radio station is putting out a radio stream which is not compatible with your phone you can always tune into the fm broadcast.  When a station puts out song artist and show information you can still Grab Tag, or watch the YouTube video of the song.  You can even check out the artists’ Facebook, Twitter or Myspace page.  This also has the advantage of reducing your data uage and the associated costs when you’re on a cell phone network.

To say we’re excited about this is like saying the pope is into religion

Grab Radio World

After months in the lab Ken and Aonghus have emerged with their new prize….Grab Radio World.  Over 800 hours have been spent getting radio feeds for over 42,000 radio stations world-wide. About 40% of these have metadata which is great because with these stations you can Grab and Tag your favourite tunes.  Check it out now.

We are delighted announce that Sean Gallagher and Bobby Ker are now joined the team.  Welcome on board guys!

    Hi Des,

When metadata (song artist info) is broadcast by the radio station the Grab and Tag buttons will be highlighted. All you have to do is press either button to eitheir Grab the tune there and then in iTunes or Tag it for later.

    Best regards,

    Aonghus
